Horizon Organic was founded in 1991 to address the growing need for organic dairy products and began launching its first products, organic yogurt and milk. Wallaby was founded in 1994, inspired by a trip to Australia where Ausie-style, slow crafted yogurt was discovered and brought to the U.S.
Horizon and Wallaby go through a series of acquisitions, including being a part of WhiteWave Foods and Danone. Danone then sold Horizon Organic in 2024 to Platinum Equity.
